Invitations, Cards, and Announcements, Oh My!

As a custom stationery designer, I am frequently asked about the range of my work. Most people think of event stationery as limited to wedding invitations. But, there is so much more to this fascinating graphic design field. So, I wanted to share with you all some of the most common types of stationery that I design!

1. Invitations

The heart and soul of event stationery; I love designing invitations! They give your guests a glimpse into the style of your event while providing information and excitement! Most commonly, I design custom invitations for weddings. But, there are so many more events that can also benefit from a high-quality, custom-designed invitation: Graduations, bridal showers, baby showers, baptisms, birthdays, and any other special day that you can think of!

2. Save-the-Dates

Perhaps even more important than the invitation is the very first wedding communication: the save-the-date. This is the first piece of information about your big day, so a beautiful save-the-date announcement will be sure to cause some excitement! And, giving your guests a heads-up about your upcoming event far in advance will give them time to schedule and prepare for your date, which will increase attendance!

3. Other Stationery Suite Elements

Your invitation suite is not just a single piece of paper. There’s a lot of information your guests need to know about a large event! Elements such as the RSVPs, the menu, lodging details, a weekend schedule, and more will provide the essential information and get your guests prepared and excited for your event!

4. Place Cards

Guests need to know where they’re sitting at a large event, so place cards and table numbers are very important! Having custom-designed cards provides the extra touch to bring together your colors and decor perfectly. I can also create any other table cards or signage needed to provide information and pull the event together!

5. Envelope Details

Envelopes are more than a simple holder for a card. You can make an invitation even more special with die-cut decorations, envelope liners, monograms, and more! And, as a custom stationer, I can even print your guests’ addresses directly onto the envelope, which alleviates one more task off of your plate!

6. Thank You Cards

Thank you notes will always be the perfect touch to wrap up a successful event. Finishing off a beautiful day with a cheap card just doesn’t feel right. A high-quality, custom-designed thank you note can match your designs and tie in all the elements of the event, leaving guests with fond memories of your special day.

7. Elopement Announcements

Covid-19 has affected everyone, and many engaged couples have recently opted for elopements rather than large weddings! Others have always preferred a more low-key day. You can still notify your loved ones in a special way with an elopement announcement card

Don’t forget, this list is not exhaustive! While I have ideas and experience with a ton of different events, I am a custom designer, which means that if you want something made that has never been done before, I can create it for you!
